Sister Kathleen Ryan, O.P.
Sr. Kathleen Ryan initiated the tutoring and citizenship program at the Dominican Literacy Center in 1993. She is responsible for the financial and administrative aspects of the Center. She has initiated and coordinated the Dominican Literacy Center Advisory Council, and is a member of the Waubonsee Community College Area Planning Council for Adult Education. Sr. Kathleen tutors individual students and works with the staff to plan and provide a multi-level curriculum for student and tutor use. Sister Kathleen's past experience includes administration of two elementary schools for nine years. She also served as a certified teacher at various schools for a total of 16 years. |

Sister Ann Clennon, O.P.
Sister Ann Clennon joined Dominican Literacy Center staff in 1996, after volunteering as a tutor for three years. She regularly tutors individual students and small groups, and coordinates the three conversation groups that meet weekly at the Center. Sr. Ann works with the staff to continually update the Center curriculum, and she also coordinates tutor training and tutor in-service. Sister Ann's experience includes teaching at multiple elementary schools as well as serving as principal at St. James School, Sauk Village, Illinois, for seven years. |

Sister Jane Ann Beckman, O.P.
Sr. Jane Ann Beckman joined the Dominican Literacy Center staff in 1999, after having taught citizenship class as a volunteer tutor. She tutors many individual students, and also coordinates and teaches the morning citizenship classes at Centro Cristo Rey. Sr. Jane Ann works with the staff to improve the curriculum and materials of the program, and assists in planning and teaching tutor training and tutor in-service. Sr. Jane Ann's experience includes serving as Director of Formation for the Springfield Dominican Sisters for six years. She also was an elementary and high school teacher, and has served as a pastoral associate at several parishes. |

Sister Rebecca Ann Gemma, O.P.
Sr. Rebecca Ann Gemma joined the Dominican Literacy Center staff in 2002. As a licensed clinical social worker, she is working with the staff to design a social work program which, through referrals and counseling, meets the varying needs of the women at the Center. Sr. Rebecca Ann also tutors individuals and small groups in ESL skills. Before coming to the Center, Sr. Rebecca Ann was a counselor for sexual assault victims, a community organizer, an elementary school principal, and an elementary school teacher. |
